What Nick resells from Alpha Net
· Updated
Nick sells domain registration. This is the split between names you can order on the site and the hosting, email, SSL, and server products that stay on Alpha Net.
Nick is a domain store on an Alpha Net reseller relationship. The cart registers a domain name. It does not provision hosting, a mailbox, a certificate, or a server.
What you can order on Nick
A .bd name is 2,500 Taka a year. The other Bangladesh extensions Nick lists are .com.bd, .net.bd, .org.bd, .info.bd, .edu.bd, .id.bd, and .sch.bd at 1,100 Taka a year, .ai.bd at 4,000, .co.bd at 5,000, and .tv.bd at 12,000. Those Bangladesh prices are fixed. The LogicBoxes margin is not added on top.
International names such as .com, .net, .org, .info, .xyz, .online, .store, .site, .tech, .biz, .co, and .me are priced from the reseller cost plus the store margin. The default margin is 85 percent, rounded up to the next Taka. The price you see at search is the price checkout uses. The browser does not get to name its own price.
What the reseller program covers that Nick does not sell yet
Alpha Net’s domain reseller panel can also renew a name, transfer one in, change nameservers, edit DNS, and forward a domain. Nick’s checkout is for a new registration. Renewal and transfer are not buttons in the cart.
Alpha Net’s public catalog also lists products the domain API cannot create: ASP.NET and cPanel hosting, reseller hosting plans, Linux and Windows VPS, dedicated servers, SSL certificates, business email, Zimbra, Google Workspace, and cloud or FTP storage. Those are ordered in the Alpha Net portal. Nick will not pretend a domain checkout has provisioned them.
Why .bd is a different lane
LogicBoxes registers the international names. It does not register .bd. Bangladesh names are checked with Alpha Net’s public BTCL lookup, and BTCL activates a .bd name after the registrant’s NID or trade license is filed. An available result is not the same thing as an activated domain.
